Who we are
CedarGroove is operated by Cedar Digital ("we", "us"), PO Box 76899, Cambridge, MA 02140, United States. Questions or requests about your information go to privacy@cedargroove.com.
What we may collect
Information you give us. If you enter an email address, we keep it together with the date, the tool you were using and the anonymous identifier described below.
Usage information. We may collect information about how the site is used, such as the pages and tools used, when and for how long, the type of browser and device, an approximate location derived from the network address, and technical logs of requests and errors. We may store an anonymous random identifier in your browser's local storage so that repeat visits can be recognised. When you sign in through the link we mail you, we set a cookie (cg_session) that keeps that browser signed in for 30 days of use; signing out removes it. This information is used to operate, secure and improve the service. It does not include your name, and it is not combined with your email address unless you give one.
Files you upload. Files sent to the drum transcriber or the drum generator are held in memory while they are processed and discarded as soon as the result is returned. Files sent for stem separation or audio-to-MIDI are kept on our server while the job runs and for one hour afterwards so you can download the result, then deleted. The MIDI from an audio-to-MIDI transcription stays in your account for twelve months, or until you delete it, together with any share link you made for it. What you upload is your responsibility; see the Terms of Use.
We do not load third-party advertising or tracking scripts.
What we use it for
To provide the tools you asked for, to keep the service secure and working, to understand which features are used so we can improve them, and, if you gave an email address, to send you product updates about CedarGroove. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting and email delivery), who may process it only on our behalf, or where the law requires.
Email and how to leave
Product updates are occasional. To stop receiving them, use the unsubscribe link in any of these emails; that keeps your address on file but marked as not to be mailed. To have your address removed from our records entirely, email privacy@cedargroove.com from that address.
Payments
If we offer paid features, payments are handled by a payment processor under its own privacy policy. We do not store card numbers.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Information is stored on our servers in the United States and with the service providers named above, and is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as the law requires. If you use the site from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States.
Your choices and rights
You can use the tools without giving an email address. You can clear the identifier by clearing your browser's site data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use; email us and we will respond.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
